Scope of ApplicationApplication Characteristics
EmulsionCaprylic Monoglyceride has an amphiphilic molecular structure and can act as a wetting agent. It can distribute at the interface between hydrophobic and hydrophilic phases, thereby reducing the surface tension between the two phases. In emulsions, the wetting agent facilitates the formation of droplets during the emulsification process.
Cosmetics

1. Antibacterial: Caprylic Monoglyceride can enhance the antibacterial effect of organic acids in cosmetic emulsions and is a highly effective synergist. When used in combination with organic acids, it can disrupt the microbial cell membrane, making it easier for the organic acid to penetrate into the cell. Once inside, the acid interferes with the cell's metabolic processes, leading to microbial death.
2. Solubilization: Caprylic Monoglyceride can increase the solubility of oil-based/water-free products such as bath oils, enhancing the effectiveness of solubilizers. This allows for a reduction in the amount of solubilizer used and improves the sensory properties of the formulation, with good skin compatibility.
